a fairly ridiculous booty track i started late last night (early in the morning? whatever). some booty, some (fairly extreme) noise, and some laughs along the way! i had a lot of fun working on this and finalized it in a livestream earlier.
When you shade, do you directly add a color for shading or do the opposite, where you put the shade color, then add white for non shaded parts? And it looks like you use multiply?
To shade I make a multiply layer and either a)fill the whole layer and erase highlights or b) block in shadows. I generally use only one color for shading to unify things, and for highlights I try to avoid white and go for lighter colors instead —makes it more interesting.
Regarding your Darius picture, the colors changed pretty drastically once shaded (in a good way!). Is this because, instead of using white for non shaded parts you used a very light color? I've done it this way before to get a nicer look, but it would change the colors to a tad darker.
Yeah, that’s the gist of it. I used pink to highlight the top half and blue to give soft highlights to the bottom half, and then messed with the levels a bit in photoshop.
